ISCD Basketball is Back on Top

3 weeks of preparation came down to one of the best first quarters the National Wheelchair Baskteballl league has seen in recent years. By the end of the first quarter, with a 20 point lead over 3 times cup holders Kessem Hadera, it was clear that The ISCD wheelchair basketball team is on its way to secure its place in the Israeli Cup Final that will take place mid February.

The final score of the semi final was 82-52. In the final the ISCD team will play against a team from Haifa.

In a moving presentation, team captains awarded 5 year old Naor Cohen, a severly disabled child from the center a signed ball in recognition of his dedication and commitment to his training in table tennis and swimming.

 

Florida Friends Stand by the ISCD

At times of financial uncertainty, the Folrida Friends of the ISCD, spurred by our Honorary President David Weissman reached out to help the disabled children of the center in a series of events.

Friendship Growing in New Jersey

Wheelchair Rugby – A New Sport at the Israel Sport Center for the Disabled

Based on the notion that everyone is entitled to play, the ISCD has initiated a Wheelchair Rugby Development Program.

Celebration of Mo's Legacy

As in the past two years, the 2009 Rosenzweig Family Disabled Children’s Championships was linked with the closing ceremony of the Good Wheel 2009 Bike Challenge.

ISCD Texas Hold'em Poker Mania Spreads Nationwide

Cleveland, Ohio, was the host of the first of several Texas Hold'em Poker tournaments to take place during 2010 nationwide.

Old and New Friends in Atlanta

The reception hosted by Tova and Mark Cohen of Atlanta marks the development of the friendship between the Atlanta Jewish and Israeli community and the Israel Sport Center for the Disabled.

Table Tennis Master Dani Bobrov wins the Bronze in Brazil
One of the Center's greatest hopes for olympic glory, disabled youngster Dani Bobrov won the Bronze Medal in the Master's tournament that took place in Brazil. To read more about Dani, please see our Olympic Hopefuls Section.
Swimmers Asael Shabo and Caroline Tabib Win 13 Gold Medals in Miami
Asael Shabo, who lost his leg in a terrorist attack some 7 years ago at the age of 9, returns from the Junior Orange Bowl Games in Miami with no less than 7 (!!) Gold Medals. Asael won each and every heat in which he took part. Caroline Tabib, 13, won additional 6 Gold medals for 25 and 50 breaststroke, 25 and 50 freestyle, 25 and 50 backstroke
